UrbanSim Community

Objective

The UrbanSim Community is composed of public agency planners and managers using UrbanSim. Similar in spirit to the ActivitySim consortium, the group brings together agencies to share land use modeling experience, as well as to coordinate development priorities, and to jointly support the maintenance and development of open source land use modeling software.

Request for Qualifications

The Zephyr Foundation is releasing an updated Request for Qualifications available here (clean; redline) to establish a Consultant Bench for maintenance and development of an open source land use model system, initially leveraging the UrbanSim open source codebase. Responses to pre-submittal questions are available here. Please note that “Open Land Use Model Software Development” is the updated title for the RFQ procurement effort formerly named “UrbanSim Open Source Software Development”.

UrbanSim was originally developed as an open source platform for modeling urban development and land use change, used by agencies worldwide for long-range transportation and land use planning. Through this RFQ, Zephyr and the open source land use modeling community are seeking qualified consultants to provide as-needed open source software development, feature implementation, and related technical work under task orders.
