Zephyr Learning Session: GMNS and Multimodal Assignment

Dr. Xuesong (Simon) Zhou is a Professor of Transportation Systems at Arizona State University and Director of the ASU Transportation+AI Laboratory. He leads the development of open-source transportation modeling tools, including DTALite, NeXTA, and OSM2GMNS.

David Schmitt is an expert in transportation planning and demand modeling with a career spanning over 30 years. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Statistics and Mathematics as well as a Master’s in Planning, all from Florida State University. David currently co-owns and serves as the Executive Vice-President at Insight Transportation Consulting, a firm he helped start in 2021. David leads the company’s nationwide practice in travel demand and analytical modeling. He is a certified member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and actively participates in several key professional organizations.
